An Update from Raising Global Kidizens

An Update from Raising Global Kidizens

Hi Reader,

I wanted to share an important update about Raising Global Kidizens (RGK).

As RGK continues to grow, my business partner has decided to step away to focus her attention on her local community. Moving forward, I will be continuing RGK as the sole owner and creator behind the platform.

Since both Raising Global Kidizens and Thoughtfully Sustainable share the same mission of supporting parents and educators with meaningful STEM and sustainability resources, I’ll also be merging the RGK email list with my Thoughtfully Sustainable newsletter community.

What does this mean for you?

Each week through Thoughtfully Sustainable, I share:
• Low-prep STEM and sustainability activities for kids
• Educational resources for parents and teachers
• Children’s book recommendations
• Nature-based learning ideas
• Hands-on science activities
• Updates about new printables, lessons, and educational products

The heart behind Raising Global Kidizens is not going away. The free Sustainable Development Goals coloring poster, children’s book lists connected to the SDGs, and sustainability-focused educational resources will continue to remain available and supported.

My goal is to continue creating practical, engaging resources that help learners better understand sustainability, science, and our interconnected world — now with all content connected through Thoughtfully Sustainable.

If you’d like to continue receiving these emails, you don’t need to do anything at all.

If you’d prefer not to receive future emails from Thoughtfully Sustainable, you can unsubscribe using the button below.

Thank you so much for being part of the Raising Global Kidizens community and for supporting sustainability education for children around the world. I’m incredibly grateful you’re here, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.

Best regards,

Jessica Purcell

Hey Reader, Simply put—Rachel Carson changed the way we see the world. She was a scientist, writer, and environmentalist who helped people understand that protecting nature protects us all. Her work led to real change, inspiring generations to care for our planet. So, how can we introduce kids to her legacy in a fun and engaging way during Women’s History Month? Jess rounded up some fantastic children’s picture books that bring her story to life! 📚✨ These books are perfect for sparking...

Hey Reader, You probably use Amazon. Over 200 million people have Amazon Prime accounts and many more shop without prepaying for shipping. Amazon has a role in our consumption (larger than many of us would like, I suspect). Sometimes, we send you to Amazon for supplies for projects we share. But maybe we can try to buy things from places other than Amazon? Our co-founder, Jen, recently shared a post on her newsletter, Sage Neighbor, about breaking up with Amazon Prime. She's convinced it's...

Hey Reader, As you can guess from the lists of picture books we rounded up related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we're big fans of books around here. A few months ago, Jen started paying her kids to read (for reasons beyond bribing them to stick their noses in books). It's not for everyone, but it's worked out pretty well for her and her boys, who are 10 and 12. It's also apparently a pretty hot topic with a lot of opinions. We'd love to know if you'd pay your kids to read. Check...
